Peculiarities of Perception of the Pleonasm in Russian and Italian

Abstract

Pleonasm is a controversial language phenomenon. Some scientists considered it as a fault of style or a figure of speech throughout the history. Pleonasm tends to be considered as fault of speech in Russian and as a rhetorical figure and even grammar necessity in Italian. Understanding of such difference could be helpful with avoiding some misinterpretations when learning the Italian language.
