Influence de la cueillette des boutons floraux sur la production de tubercules chez le haricot ailé ou pois carré (Psophocarpus tetragonoiobus [L.] DC)

Abstract

Effect of reproductive pruning on the tuber yield of the winged bean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus (L) D.C.). The effects were studied of periodical pruning of flowers buds ans young pods on the yield of tubers in three cultivars (Chimbu, WB 15-12 and ISDR/Bukavu) of the winged bean (Psophocarpus tetragonoiobus (L.) DC). Weakly removal of the flowers, buds and immature pods increased significantly the tuber yield of 49 %. We observed a best response to the treatment with ISDR/Bukavu with 94 % yield increase, but has the lowest yield without pruning.
