Abstract: The period of the Apartheid system was both bloody and racist. Men had been fighting for years against the Apartheid system unsuccessfully. Though women knew that the men were fighting against the Apartheid system, they did feel integrated in the fight as the same men also discriminated them. This paper will be focused on the implication of the Black Sash, the first activists-women group with a white skin. It will specifically aims to account on how their fight contributed to build a feminist national identity and open the door for a postmodernist perspective in the analysis of the Apartheid system. Keywords: Apartheid system, Black Sash, feminist national identity, postmodernist perspective.
