A critical analysis of some confusions that haunt the peace process between the Colombian government and the FARC rebels, which relate to the objectives (The end of the armed conflict? Victims’ forgiveness to victimizers?), seeking to clarify which place corresponds to hatred and forgiveness. The main objective of the peace process is the end of the armed conflict between the Colombian government and the FARC and achieving longterm social peace, and is not nor can it beforgiveness, an act reserved for the private and independent sphere of the victims, which is beyond what can agree conflicting parties (the only ones called to arrange the ceasefire), is not politically articulable and cannot be imposed through legislation to perpetrators (to ask forgiveness), nor to the victims (to forgive).
