Challenges facing management practice in the light of Industry 4.0: The example of Poland

Abstract

The article outlines selected challenges brought by Industry 4.0 as well as consequences for Polish businesses in the modern process of their management. The concept is based on a close connection between physical objects and information network. Sophisticated networks of businesses are being created, connected with smart resources communicating via the Internet. This means cooperation within implemented cyber-physical systems affecting a company's environment, its production model, a value-added chain of business processes and organisational structure.
