Abstract
The importance of translation and version in the intellectual work of the Mexican writer José Emilio Pacheco [1939] becomes highly relevant since both activities constituted the final section of his poem collections, with the title 'Aproximaciones'. Moreover, in all of his books strong intertextual relations, homages, quotes and texts 'in the style of', besides the use of heteronomy, abound. All of these weave a net which backs his belief that 'poetry is made by all of us', a conception allowing him at times to trust in the permanence of the poetic word against the conviction of the future as destruction and ruin
