Neoplasms with epithelioid histology may be diagnostically challenging. Immunohisto chemistry (IHC) can aid in confirming thedifferential diagnosis of mesotheliomas, melanomas, lymphomas, and soft tissue sarcomas, all tumors that can present with an epithelioid histology. Immunohistochemistry can also assist in confirming the type of sarcomas. Using cases diagnosed in acommunity hospital setting over a ten year period, the use of IHC in sarcomas will be illustrated.
