Fiscal decentralization and economic growth: Evidence from Viet Nam
Abstract
Impacts of fiscal decentralization on economic growth have been discussed in many theoretical and empirical studies. This study analyses the impacts of fiscal decentralization on economic growth in Vietnam during 1998-2012. By employing panel data with GLS method, the research shows that expenditure decentralization has negative effect, while revenue decentralization has positive effect. In addition, the research demonstrates that labour forces, private investments positively correlated with economic growth while inflation is not.
