ORGANIZAÇÕES DE MICROFINANÇAS: INOVAÇÕES E DESAFIOS PARA A INCLUSÃO FINANCEIRA

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to review the literature on microfinance organizations and discuss theoretical and methodological shortcomings, highlighting the innovations and challenges for financial inclusion of low-income populations. It is noticed that despite the microfinance organizations present significant advances in operational terms, mainly in lending methodologies through mechanisms of selection and monitoring consistent with their socio-political aims, they collide in the dilemma between financial viability and expand its social base toward the poorest.
