In this chapter we expose how there was coexistence within the Controversia review (1979-1981) of two theoretical, cultural and political perspectives associated with different types of Marxism and Peronism. The main controversialists in this dialogue were Juan Carlos Portantiero, adherent to socialism, and Nicolás Casullo, identified with Peronism. Here, we analyze the textuality of the magazine to see which elements appear from the revolutionary ideology and which ones from the democratic ideology in the making, in a context of essays of renovating languages of the debates, where what was put in evidence were the limits and possibilities dialogue offered by said review. We found strong ideological limits that meant that ideological differences could not be contained and that it became evident that there were two country models designed for Argentina, one inscribed in the populist matrix and the other in the socialist one. Once the disagreement was made explicit, the publication came to an end.
