Abstract

The Council of the Civil Buildings, created in 1795, expresses an opinion on the projects of construction of temples. We notice that many projects are very poor. But the members of the committee also banish the decorations, considering the temples only as meeting rooms, what explains the very simple aspect, without big ornamentation, of most of the temples.
