Congenital parechovirus meningitis presenting as in utero intraventricular hemorrhage: A case report
Abstract
Human parechovirus (HPeV) infection in neonates can have severe presentations, including sepsis-like symptoms and meningoencephalitis. Most reported cases were acquired postnatally. We report the case of a premature infant with in utero intraventricular hemorrhage who was diagnosed with HPeV meningoencephalitis within the 1st week of life, presumably congenitally acquired.
