In previous studies, we introduced a directional volumetric display which can project in multiple directions by superimposing different two-dimensional images in three-dimensional space. However, thread-type displays exhibit focus and pixel size issues due to projector limitations. Therefore, we employ an electronic holography for image projection in this study. An electronic holography can project a focused image at all positions using interference and diffraction of light. This characteristic of electronic holography can solve the problems of previous studies, such as misalignment of focus and pixel size due to differences in depth. We confirmed clear directional images from the front and side views by combining an electronic holography with a directional volumetric display.
