FRAME ANALISYS OF LEXICO-DERIVATIONAL NEST WITH THE «FOOT» APEX (based on the English language material)
Abstract
The research is performed within the frame of cognitive linguistics. This article is directed at the somatic lexis of the English language in order to get some information of how native speakers perceive themselves in the world around. The paper researches lexico-derivational nest with the «foot» apex. In our opinion, this nest represents some kind of a concept or, to be more precise, a part of a concept from the position of derivatology. An attempt to make the frame model of this nest is made. Within the frames of this nest different levels of abstraction are distinguished: deep level (the level of slots, propositional schemes and propositions) and superficial level (the level of lexico-derivational meanings of the derivates). The frame model of the nest is formed by the subframes in which lexico-semantical variants of the word ‘foot’ are situated. The article demonstrates the main characteristics of the subframes and the connection between the derivatives of the lexico-derivational nest with the «foot» apex both at the deep and superficial levels.
