Feminism: A Historical and Islamic Context
Abstract
Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies that have common goal to define, establish and achieve equal political, economics, personal and social rights for women. Feminists advocate that women should recieve the same treatment as men in education, work, opportunities and politics that the same moral standards should be applied to both sexes. Feminist theory, which emerged from feminist movements aims to understand the nature of gender incquality by examining womens, social roles and lived experience. All movements that work to obtain women's rights, should be considered feminist movement.
