The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the employees’ work-life conflicts on their behavioral outcomes and the mediating role of work stress in this effect. The sample of the study consisted of 201 teachers working in 10 public high schools located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The data collected from these employees using a questionnaire were analyzed in the research framework. The findings show that there is a significant positive relationship among work-family conflict, job stress and turnover intention; and a significant negative relationship among work-family conflict, organizational dcommitment, and job satisfaction. In addition, job stress has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between work-family conflict and organizational commitment, and between work-family conflict and turnover intention; and job stress has a full mediating effect on the relationship between job-family conflict and job satisfaction.
