POST-SOVIETDEMOCRATIZATIONIN THE CONTEXT OFPARALLEL STRUCTURES

Abstract

The author discusses how parallel structures may become indicators of democratic political regime. A number of examples given by the author show dependence of the post-Soviet democratization process on the quantitative and qualitative growth of parallel structures. Further democratization will be connected with their growth, while authoritarian tendencies will reduce their number.
