Prospections et sondages sur les littoraux oriental et sud-atlantique du Maroc

Abstract

Several survey and test pits, were conducted along the mediterranean and atlantic coastline of Morocco (Berkane, Essaouira, Agadir). New palaeolithic and neolithic sites were discovered. Iberomaurusian and Aterian were encountered in stratigraphic context, in Cap Ghir caves (Agadir) and in Bizmoune Cave (Essaouira). Extensive excavations in Bizmoune cave are expected to improve our knowledge of these cultural prehistoric periods along the shores of moroccan atlantic ocean.
