In order to improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys, Ti coatings were prepared on the surface of AZ91D magnesium alloy by means of magnetron sputtering. The coatings’ corrosion resistances were compared and analyzed by drop test. The morphology and phase composition of the coatings prepared at different annealing temperatures were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X - ray diffraction (XRD). Results showed that the vacuum annealing treatment could reduce the porosity of the coating, increase the density and crystallinity of the coating, reduce the residual stress in the coating, and improve the corrosion resistance of the coating. With the increase of vacuum annealing temperature, the grain size in the coating increased, the coating became rough, and particle agglomeration appeared in the coating. When the vacuum annealing temperature was 300 ℃, cracks appeared in the coating.
