At the beginning of 2009, a large social movement hit the island of Guadeloupe: a forty-four-day general strike. The point of this study is to historically position this recent event. It is suggested that identifying the episteme from which the LKP operates helps make sense of this social movement. Mass movements, nationalism, propaganda are the tools the group uses to fight the “pwofitans” – the capitalists. And these tools cannot be considered as jamais vu but indeed as déjà vu and, probably, reja vu. I propose here to reinsert the ideological impact of LKP in its own context and history and to compare it to many similar movements in the 19th and 20th centuries.
