Integral Attention to the Masculine Health: The Search for Psychological Service in a Training Clinic

he current study examined the reasons adult masculine clientele (and their profiles) search for psychological service in a training‑clinic of a private university in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, in the period between January 2006 and July 2009. The research evaluated, using descriptive quantitative analysis, 208 sorting cards. The most prevalent results were: age range from 26 to years, low socioeconomic level, job function, high school degree, single, childless, spontaneous search for psychological service. Many individuals suffered from interpersonal problems and anxiety. It also found the relevant therapeutical actions not only involve the individual in the space of the individual psychological support, but also stimulate affective investment in the family, labor and social fields. It is very important to continue these studies to improve the understanding of the features of this population and formulate effective strategies in public health care.
