The Lavoriero of convents

Abstract

The Lavoriero is a new way to know and valorize religious places, it is a group of people coming from different fields of knowledge. They have started in Santarcangelo in the SS. Barbara e Caterina Convent when the abbess asked them to take care of artistic and non artistic heritage of the convent. She said that nuns could not do that any more because they were required to do something else. It was a little cultural revolution where a group of nuns decided to hand the baton to other people in order to be sure that the convent heritage could reach the future. They have made a contract.The Lavoriero plans cultural events, artisans’ meeting and courses starting from what in the convent nuns did . It has also created a net of Italian Convents.
