Design Considerations for Open spaces in Ecological Curative Resorts
Abstract
Although Egypt enjoys many natural healing resources such as islands, beaches, natural springs, white and black sands, and other sources of environmental healing, these areas are not optimally exploited, which may lead to the risk of losing these natural resources and not placing Egypt within the scope of the medical tourism map. From this principle, the research is interested in studying the elements of environmental curative resorts in & out of Egypt, its locations, treatments, and its relationship to the environment and the consumer, while studying the design conditions of environmental curative resorts and their types, and studying the open spaces in them in order to benefit from all environmental therapeutic components in a better way, and linking this with studying the visible and invisible needs of consumers in these resorts, the visible needs of which are physical and non-physical as well as the psychological needs of users, which contributes to treating visitors and taking into account their needs in a better way and contributes to developing the design foundations for environmental therapeutic resorts.
