El conflicto Cuba/Estados Unidos, nuevas realidades versus viejas recetas: los límites del cambio

Abstract

The Cuba-US conflict has already reached its fifty anniversary, all along this time, the embargo has proven to be a policy unable to bring about neither the regimen change nor transition in the way Washington expected to be. The election of Barack Obama has sparked expectative of changes in a policy whose lack of international support and incompetence to achieve results suggests the convenience of adopting a more pragmatic approach. The author proposes an analysis on factors that may be of relevance for these changes and concludes that despite favorable conditions in the short term there is not too much to wait for.
