COGNITIVE PERSPECTIVE OF GENDER STUDIES
Abstract
This article analyzes the possibilities of studies of gender manifestation in the English language in the framework of the approaches developed in the foreign and Russian cognitive linguistics. The article describes the different approaches to the study of gender: deficiency framework, dominance framework, difference framework, dynamic framework and others, examines such cognitive approaches as cognitive-lingvocultural, cognitive-pragmatic, cognitive-discursive and phenomenological, and describes the prospect of applications of the tools developed in the framework of these cognitive approaches to the study of gender.
