This article focuses on food relocalization initiatives, evaluating at what extent they may be depicted as inclusive territorialisation processes that strengthen both the territories, thanks to an increase of the retention of value at the local level, and the agents most affected by current trends in the agro-food system, low-income farmers and consumers. Drawing upon the insights of the literature on alternative food networks and localized agro-food systems literature, an analytical framework is applied to a case study in Argentina. The main results point up the role of associative structures, together with the different dimensions of embeddedness in the development of the relocalization initiative. However, scaling-up could lead to a phase of disembeddedness and to a strengthening of a pure instrumental rationality.
