Topical Application of Mitomycin-C by Laryngotracheal Stenosis

Abstract

Laryngotracheal stenosis constitutes one of the most challenging problems in ENT practice that a physician may face with. Despite many treatment modalities have been tried, there is no agreement. Topical application of mitomycin-C is a new treatment modality which presents a promising treatment alternative. In this report, we present our clinical experience on this new treatment modality which has not been published in Turkish literature before. We present the early postoperative follow up results of topical mitomycin-C application for 4 revision and 3 primary cases of laryngotracheal stenosis. We have the impression that mitomycin-C is an alternative treatment modality in laryngotracheal stenosis.
