INNOVATIVE TEACHING IN THE SYSTEM OF CONTINUING TEACHERS’ EDUCATION

Abstract

In the context of rapid changes and the constant updating of technology and production there is a need for graduates of a new quality, possessing not only knowledge, but also general skills, reflected in the ability to cope with life and professional problems. Teachers’ education, being an integral part of the Russian educational system, fulfills the important task of providing human resources. The level of teachers’ training determines the quality of the professional competence of graduates and therefore requires careful consideration.The paper deals with the main peculiarities of present stage educational system in Russia. The requirements for teaching in the current context are presented. The concept of innovation in teaching, problems of advanced training of teachers and their research activities are disclosed. Inconsistencies and problems of continuing teachers’ education and measures to solve them are revealed.
