Relationship between the disturbing organisms and the depth of the pearl shells field in the northeast of the Persian Gulf
Abstract
Fouling is a major problem in culture practices throughout the world. Fouling was investigated in depths of 1,3 and 5 meters. The constituents of foulings are found to vary in different months . Barnacles were major fouling organisms on all three depths throughout the study. Surface panels had more density and variation of fouling. Settelment of biofouling is prior to large siltation load.Tonicates and spats of edible and pearl oysters were the major fouling after barnacles.
