As práticas institucionais do poder judiciário brasileiro: da Primeira República à Constituição Federal de 1934
Abstract
This work aims to demonstrate how the Brazilian Judiciary was structured after the proclamation of the Republic, noting that, throughout the period of the Old Republic, even with the constitutionalization of institutional guarantees, never been possible to conceive it as a power immune to political interference especially those from the local oligarchs. Consequently, it demonstrates that, in this period, the institutional practices of the courts were not able to interact with the political system independently, indicating an incompatible political dependence with the republican form of government.
