The current situation in Higher Education involves the responsability of achieving quality in that education level. For this purpose, one of the key elements should be, among others, the change in teaching methodology by including alternative techniques and strategies in the teaching-learning process and assessment. In this proposal, we present an experience in Initial Teacher Education related to teaching practices. These teaching practices are focused on classroom research using cooperative learning and portfolio as tools that allow the student to design his/her own practice and the follow-up of his/her personal formative development. For these reasons, we allow the students to voice through the task "to put into practice an idea" so that they feel themselves actors and architects of their own learning.
