MEANING OF LOVE IN THE VOCAL AND CHORAL LYRIC OF VASILE SPĂTĂRELU ON VERSES BY NICHITA STĂNESCU

Abstract

Th e article is dedicated to the analysis of some lieds and choral works written by the composer from Iaşi Vasile Spătărelu on the lyrics of the poet Nichita Stănescu. Th e lieds Short Ballad, Game with Planes and Evening Game, taken from the poet’s debut volume, Meaning of Love, and the choral miniature To... are analyzed in this paper. Th e author focuses on the musical-stylistic language, the compositional aspect and other aspects related to the conceptualization and transposition into music of Stanescu’s works. Th e conclusions refer to the versatility and originality of the compositional approaches that capture the philosophical, deeply lyrical contents of Stanescu’s verb.
