Les périodiques anglo-parisiens de la première moitié du XIXe siècle : passeurs de culture et de modèles éditoriaux

Abstract

From the very beginning of the nineteenth century, reviews and magazines in English are published in Paris, more particularly by the Anglo-Parisian publisher Antonio Giovanni Galignani, and later on by his sons. These periodicals take directly, both of their format and their content, from the model launched in Scotland in 1802, The Edinburgh Review, and in London in 1809, The Quarterly Review. On the Parisian literary scene they prove to be a step ahead of La Revue Britannique (1825) and the Revue des Deux Mondes (1829).
