The development of primary school 'Vuk Karadžić' in Zvečan and its success in 2016/2017
Abstract
Primary school in Zvečan under the name of 'Vuk Karadžić' was registered for the first time in the court register as an organization of associated labour on 20th December,1973, although the founding act of the work organization had been passed back on 26th September,1949. The teaching takes place in the two-storey school built in 1961 in the centre of the settlement. The school also comprises a separate junior class in the village of Grabovac, three kilometers far from the main school, where the teaching takes place in the school built in 1923 and recently renovated. The pupils from the village of Srbovac also attend the classes there. Today, the school in Zvečan fulfills all the conditions necessary for successful teaching thus gaining remarkable results in its work. There are 66 employees out of which, 51 with university vocational degree and 7 with 'higher' (three year) college degree. However, the school authorities are not satisfied with this state of affairs and have ambitious plans for its improvement. A combined historical and descriptive approach was used in the paper.
