Ángela García Rives, o quan elles van arribar a les biblioteques i arxius
Abstract
Objectiu: analitzar la trajectòria acadèmica i professional de la primera dona que va ingressar per oposició al Cuerpo Facultativo de Archiveros, Bibliotecarios y Arqueólogos: Ángela García Rives. -- Metodologia: recerca documental basada en un procés sistemàtic i seqüencial de recopilació, selecció, organització i anàlisi de fonts primàries i secundàries sobre la persona objecte d'estudi, a partir del material disponible al Portal de Archivos Españoles (PARES) i, per derivació, a partir de la documentació conservada a l'Archivo General de la Administración (AGA) relativa al seu expedient personal i de depuració. -- Resultats: hi ha nombrosos arquetips de figures històriques d'homes excel·lents destacats en tots els camps professionals. En l'actualitat es duu a terme l'esforç de visibilitzar les històries de vides femenines que han estat ocultades o minimitzades. No obstant això, aquests exemples queden limitats a alguns casos que es repeteixen sistemàticament, amb la qual cosa es configura la idea que són excepcionals, a més del fet que no són generalitzats en totes les àrees de coneixement. Per bé que Ángela García Rives és un personatge històric, conegut almenys en l'àrea de Biblioteconomia i Documentació i amb certa rellevància pel fet d'haver estat la primera dona que va ingressar al Cuerpo Facultativo de Archiveros, Bibliotecarios y Arqueólogos, els resultats derivats de la nostra recerca revelen que encara hi ha dades que s'ignoren sobre la seva figura. La principal aportació d'aquest treball ha estat l'obtenció i l'anàlisi d'evidències documentals sobre la seva trajectòria acadèmica i professional. Objective: To analyse the academic and professional career of the first woman to join the Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archaeologists: Ángela García Rives. -- Methodology: Documentary research based on a systematic and sequential process of collection, selection, organization and analysis of primary and secondary sources on the person under study, drawing on the material available at the Spanish Archive Portal (PARES) and, by extension, from her personal files at the General Archive of the Administration (AGA). -- Results: There are numerous records of the achievements of male figures in all professional fields. Efforts are currently being made to put the spotlight on the stories of female lives that have been neglected or disparaged. These biographies are often limited to specific cases that are systematically repeated, thus creating the idea that they are exceptions to the general rule; and in certain areas of knowledge their presence is particularly scarce. Although Ángela García Rives is a historical figure, well known in the area of Library Science and Documentation as the first woman to join the Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archaeologists, the results of our research show that many details regarding her life remain unknown. The main contribution of this study is the compilation and analysis of documentary evidence on her academic and professional career.
