Theoretical and methodological research on the determinants of the students’ addictive behavior occurrence

The main approaches of foreign and domestic scientists to the study of the problem of addictive behavior of the personality are reviewed in the article. The main stages of the addictive process formation are indicated. The main characteristics of a person with addictive behavior are analyzed. The main types of addictive behavior are highlighted and the generalized classification of chemical and non-chemical forms of addictive behavior manifested in a person is consideredThe factors that can cause the formation of addictive behavior during the student period are determined. Social factors are analyzed. It is found that technical progress in various fields of industry, the influence of peer groups, family, etc., can lead to the formation of addictive behavior. The factors connected with individual peculiarities of the personality are showed. It is found out the psychological and physiological features of a person (typological features of the nervous system, character), different characteristics of the personality can cause the addictions. It is shown that psychophysiological features of a person determine the individual peculiarity of addictive behavior. They can significantly affect the choice of the object of dependence, the pace of its formation, the degree of severity. The biological factors related to the hereditary predisposition to certain forms of addictive behavior, the degree of initial tolerance to certain substances are analyzed. It is determined that studies of this issue are carried out mainly by three methods: genealogical, twin and foster children research. The tendency towards the formation of addictive behavior is revealed to be a universal feature of the person, including the student period. It is concluded that addictive behavior can be a consequence of the influence of several factors simultaneously, while the combination of such factors is individual for different people.
