Internet Anxiety in Information Search Process among Graduate Students at Ferdowsi and Birjand Universities
Abstract
The respondents of the present study were drawn from the graduate students at Masters level whose dissertation proposals have been approved by the Graduate Education Council at either universities by the beginning of 2009. A questionnaire was used as primary data collection instrument. 236 students were given the questionnaire, to which 156 responded. Reviewing the level of internet anxiety among the respondents illustrated that the majority (82.1%) had less than average (score 60) internet anxiety. Nevertheless the sample studied furnished a normal distribution of scores. A significant difference was observed between mean internet anxiety scores and average internet anxiety score (60). It was indicated that the anxiety level in the population was less than average, although there was no significant difference among mean internet anxiety score among female and male students as well as students from various disciplines .
