Probing canonical geometrical objects by digital spiral imaging

Abstract

We recently proposed a novel concept to remotely acquire information of objects, based on the discrete orbital angular momentum of light. Here we use two different schemes for implementing the technique. In order to test the two acquisition methods and to compare their results, we use as target the simplest canonical phase jump.
