Estimate of settlement of the soil by pier foundations in buildings located in the South part of Minas Gerais.
Abstract
The analysis of the soil settlement is very important to foresee the good behavior of the structures related to the safety conditions in the constructions. Various estimate methods of soil settlement were developed in order to assist the professionals in the foundation’s dimension computation. The objective of this work was to estimate the settlement of four buildings situated in Lavras-MG, considering that those buildings have used pier foundation. The obtained results for each building were analyzed individually and compared with the other buildings. The foundations presented different values of settlement, even though, all of them were inside acceptable limits, suggested by diverse authors.
