Graciosoaren figura Barrutiaren teatroan

Abstract

The figure of the "Fool", or the so-called "Graciosoa", increases on its importance as the text goes on when regarding Barrutia ́s plays. The purpose of this article is to describe the nature and role of this motif in the literary work by Barrutia. The origins of the "graciosoa" pattern during the Spanish Baroque period and its development are discussed in relation to the influence that this literary tradition had in Barrutia's play Christmas Performance.
