THE IMPLEMENTATION OF KKNI BASED CURRICULUM IN COMMUNICA-TION SCIENCE UNDERGRADUATE STUDY PROGRAM OF INDONESIA IN-FORMATICS AND BUSINESS UNIVERSITY (STUDI IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM BERBASIS KKNI PADA PROGRAM STUDI S1 ILMU KOMUNIKASI UNIVERSITAS INFORMATIKA DAN BISNIS INDONESIA)
Abstract
Abstract. This research is motivated by the rules and laws issued by the government regard-ing the implementation of the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) in higher education curriculum. The principle of KKNI is to assess an individual in the aspects of knowledge, competencies, and skills in accordance with the learning achievements obtained through educational process which is shown by certain descriptor levels. This research seeks to see the procedure implementation of KKNI based curriculum in Communication Science under-graduate study program of Indonesia Informatics and Business University (UNIBI), which in-cludes planning, implementation, and evaluation procedures as well as factors affecting the imple-mentation of KKNI based curriculum. The research method used was descriptive qualitative and the data was collected through observation, questionnaire, and documentary study. The subject of this research was the head of UNIBI Communication Science Study Program and all the lecturers in the study program. This research found that the planning of KKNI curriculum in UNIBI Com-munication Science Study Program has aligned with instructions from Belmawa and Ristekdikti. The implementation was not yet optimal but it was already in accordance with the government’s rules. In addition, the study program has not conducted holistic evaluation because the KKNI cur-riculum is just recently applied in 2016/2017 academic year and therefore could only evaluate the performance of lecturers and students’ learning outcome. In short, factors affecting the implemen-tation of KKNI curriculum include the curriculum itself, lecturers, students, facilities and infra-structure, and stakeholders. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peraturan dan undang-undang yang dikeluar-kan pemerintah terhadap pemberlakuan Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia (KKNI) pada kurikulum pendidikan tinggi. Prinsip KKNI adalah menilai seseorang dalam aspek keilmuan, keahlian dan keterampilan sesuai dengan capaian pembelajaran yang diperoleh melalui proses pen-didikan, pelatihan kerja atau pengalaman yang telah dilampui, ditunjukan melalui deskriptor level tertentu. Penelitian ini berusaha melihat bagaimana prosedur penyelenggaraan Implementasi Ku-rikulum berbasis KKNI pada Program Studi (Prodi) S1 Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Informatika dan Bisnis Indonesia (UNIBI) meliputi prosedur perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam Implementasi Kurikulum berbasis KKNI. Metode penelitian disini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, angket wawancara dan studi dokumen. Subjek Penelitian disini ialah Kepala Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi UNIBI dan seluruh Dosen Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi UNIBI. Hasil Penelitian menggambarkan bahwa perencanaan kurikulum KKNI pada Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi UNIBI sudah sesuai dengan instruksi dari Belmawa dan Ristekdikti, pelaksanaan Implementasi Kurikulum KKNI belum optimal namun sudah sesuai dengan aturan pemerintah dan prodi hanya baru mengimplementasikan kurikulum yang bersifat pembaharuan dokumen, Prodi Ilmu Komu-nikasi belum melakukan evaluasi kurikulum KKNI secara menyeluruh, hal tersebut dikarenakan kurikulum KKNI baru diterapkan pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017 jadi Prodi ilmu komunikasi hanya melakukan evaluasi kinerja dosen oleh mahasiswa dan evaluasi hasil belajar mahasiswa, (4) hal-hal yang mempengaruhi implementasi kurikulum KKNI diantaranya kurikulum itu sendiri (Kurikulum KKNI), dosen, mahasiswa, sarana prasarana, stakeholders.
