Between 1979 and 2006 a lot of research has been developed in a field such as language for specific purposes (LSP) in Catalan linguistics. In both years two different versions of an Estatut d’autonomia de Catalunya, Catalonia’s self-government statute, were approved. Both versions are therefore supposed to reflex changes in discourse that have taken place during this period and which are described in legal and administrative language handbooks. Despite that, Administration’s praxis doesn’t always take into account them: such linguistic recommendations are omitted voluntarily or involuntarily. This article is aimed to identify and analyse some linguistic features associated to each text. In cases where linguistic differences have been identified, we will try to explain them according to linguistic conventions that rule this specific field from a scholar point of view.
