Mutuality of political culture with strategic state priorities

The author analyses interdependence among political culture of society and strategic state priorities, based on Ukraine example, in the article supplied below. There are many concepts of political culture in political science. However, the most classical concept is considered the concept invented by the American scientists G. Almond and S. Verba. This concept represents political culture as a system of empirical beliefs, expressive symbols, values, which are determine the situation where is political activity exist. Besides, the author reveals his own vision of the phenomenon of political culture in this article. The process of modernization of the political system led to alteration of key Ukrainian strategic development priorities. These changes resulted the restructuring of attitudes and political type of culture in Ukrainian society. Political culture proved to be factor wich can helps or hinders in process of political modernization and democratization. This article highlighted a number of factors which influence on formation of the strategic priorities of the country. The author concludes that, socio­economic factor is the most important; it creates a political culture and defines development priorities, because welfare is the most accurate indicator, which shows whether people like the steps of government activities and selected areas of future development or no. It is proposed to develop and disseminate the ideology of strategic development that will ensure the effective functioning of the political culture.
