The ubiquitin specific protease 39 (USP39) interacts with the transcription factor and cytoplasmic regulator of planar cell polarity (PCP), Grainyheadlike 3 (Grhl3). USP39-dependent PCP gene upregulation contributes to epithelial morphogenesis.
