Transformation of the identity of Old Believers in the Baltic states (Latvia and Estonia) and Romania

Abstract

This article explores the current situation for religious groups of Russian Old Believers in two Baltic states (Latvia and Estonia) and Romania. The article is devoted to the results of field research, which compares this minority in terms of language, religion, and ethnicity. The article addresses the transformation of the original identity of Old Believers and explains the origin and history of Old Believers in the three countries.
