Libertad de Prensa y lucha de Partidos en el Trienio Constitucional: los Procesos contra el Diario Gaditano de José Joaquín de Clararrosa
Abstract
During the Trienio Liberal, periodical press became a space for the debate of the main political issues officially discussed in the Courts´ rostra. Therefore, the confrontation between serviles or monarchists and liberals (as well as the polemic between moderate and radical liberals), was echoed in the pages of these periodicals. Thus, the press was the stage for a fight between political parties in which the opponents used the legislation on press in order to put obstacles to each other. The Diario Gaditano is a good example of the quarrels and revenges that took place sheltered under the contemporary legislation on press, and it also offers a clear insight into the political atmosphere of the age.
