The history of post-Soviet journalism is a contemporary research topic that has not yet received a balanced scientific assessment. The article studies recent attempts by several journalist groups to capture the history of the key media of post-Soviet journalism (“The History of Russian Media in 1989-2011” and “Dear Editor team. The true story of “Lenta.ru...”) which has not yet become the subject of scientific research. These texts are characterized by the following features: confession themes, presence of several journalists to create “an objective” picture, heightened emotional state and personal subjective interpretation of events. The style and composition of those texts reflect the common tendencies that define the evolution of journalistic “opinions” as well as an network alternative journalism which is focused on providing a more personal assessment and individual reaction to political and sociocultural historical events.
