Objectives Entrepreneurship is present in all spheres of our lives, especially in economic and social areas. It is considered the driving force behind every country's development and sustainable economic growth. For it to fulfil its role, state actions are needed to support it and create an appropriate entrepreneurial environment. Literature research has shown that the determinants of entrepreneurship are analyzed into external and internal factors, taking into account the nature and strength of their impact. The research aims to analyze entrepreneurs' opinions on the conditions of entrepreneurship in the Lublin region. Material and methods The research was conducted on a sample of 118 micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs operating in the Lublin Voivodeship. The research method was a diagnostic survey using the survey technique. Results In respondents' opinion, internal conditions positively impact the functioning and development of enterprises with a relatively strong influence. External conditions have a moderately negative impact with medium influence. Conclusions Based on the results obtained, proposals for support for people starting and running businesses were developed.
