Itabaiana Grande: economic and cultural scenarios in the city of truckers

Abstract

This article is the result of work developed in the scope of studies on cultural, social and economic aspects in the face of the dynamics of a city in Sergipe with great regional socioeconomic relevance. Its objective was to highlight the economic and social nuances given the centrality that the city of Itabaiana has in the urban network of the state of Sergipe, with reach on the national scene. Documentary and bibliographic research, landscape analysis and unstructured observation were used throughout the study. Throughout the research, the economic interdependence of the urban headquarters with the rural environment is perceived in view of the socioeconomic interactions established in the region. In addition, the centrality of the fair as a cultural heritage of a people is emphasized, going beyond economic factors, andthe fundamental role of commerce in the face of local development
