Remarks on primitive series on plane curves

Abstract

In this paper we relate primitive linear series on a smooth plane curve C with the following properties of zero-dimensional subschemes X of the projective plane:1) Cayley-Bacharach "at degree a"2) the absence of non assigned base pointson C for the linear system of curves of degree a through X.This allows us to construct examples of primitive series on C.
